Check on Mine is a personal safety monitoring service that uses SMS text messages and voice calls to alert your designated emergency contacts when you may need help. Our messaging services are an essential part of keeping you and your loved ones connected during emergencies.
We only send messages that are directly related to safety monitoring and emergency alerts. We will never send marketing messages, promotional content, or sell your phone number to third parties.

Users opt-in to receive SMS messages during the account registration process in the Check on Mine mobile app (iOS/Android). Below are screenshots of the actual opt-in workflow:
Create Your Account
User enters personal information including phone number for SMS notifications.
User must check consent boxes and agree to terms before proceeding. SMS disclosure is clearly visible.

Emergency contacts must provide explicit consent before receiving any alerts. They do NOT need to download the app. Here is the complete SMS workflow:
User adds emergency contact in the app. Contact will receive consent request SMS.
Contact receives consent SMS with all required disclosures: program name, frequency, rates, opt-out, and legal links.
Contact actively opts-in by replying YES. This confirms consent to receive messages.
Contact receives confirmation with opt-out instructions and support contact.

If an emergency contact does not reply YES or declines, they will NEVER receive emergency alerts from Check on Mine. We strictly enforce consent requirements.
Stop receiving messages at any time
Reply to any message from Check on Mine with one of these words:
If you reply STOP, you will immediately stop receiving all alerts from Check on Mine. The person who added you will be notified that you've opted out, and they should designate a new emergency contact. Important: This means you won't be notified if they have an emergency.
If you reply STOP, you will stop receiving check-in reminders and other service messages to your phone. Your account will still function, but phone-based notifications will be disabled. You can re-enable them in your account settings.
If you change your mind and want to receive messages again:
If you want to receive SMS alerts but not voice calls, you can configure this in your emergency contact preferences (if you have a Check on Mine account) or contact us directly to update your preferences.
How often you might receive messages
